Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Receipt Scanner (the "App") accesses, uses, and protects information.
In short: your receipts, expenses and reports are stored only on your device. The only data that leaves your device is the receipt image you choose to scan, which is processed by Google's Gemini API to read its contents.
1. Information Accessed and Core Functionality
- Camera & Photos: With your permission, the App lets you photograph a receipt or import a receipt image from your gallery. When you scan, the image is sent to Google's Gemini API (a service of Google LLC) solely to extract the receipt details (such as merchant, date, items, amounts and taxes). - Local Storage: Your receipts, extracted details, categories, rules, reports and settings are stored locally on your device in a private on-device database. We do not upload or back up this data to our servers.
- Security (PIN): If you enable the PIN lock, your PIN is stored locally in encrypted form to protect access to your data. We do not have access to your PIN.
- Export & Sharing: A receipt or report (CSV/PDF) leaves your device only if you tap "Share" or "Export" and choose where to send or save it (for example email or cloud storage). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
- Internet Access: Used to send receipt images for extraction, to obtain configuration needed to access the extraction service, and to process purchases.
2. In-App Purchases and Billing
The App offers optional premium features through subscriptions and a one-time ("lifetime") purchase.
- Payment Processing: All financial transactions are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We never see, collect, or store your credit card numbers, bank details, or physical address.
- Transaction Data: Google Play provides us with purchase and subscription status (such as Order IDs, product IDs and timestamps) so we can confirm and manage your access to premium features.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not require an account or login, and we do not collect your name, email address, or physical address.
- We do not use advertisements, advertising identifiers, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data for marketing purposes.
- We never access your bank, card, or payment accounts.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored on your device. You can delete individual receipts in the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, which permanently removes all locally stored data. Receipt images sent for extraction are processed by Google according to the Gemini API terms linked above; we do not keep copies on our servers.
5. Your Rights (GDPR / RODO)
Users in the European Economic Area have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data and to object to its processing. Because we do not store your personal data on our servers, your data is under your direct control on your device. For any request, contact us using the details below.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Security
Receipt images are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your data is stored locally on your device and can be additionally protected with the App's PIN lock and your device's screen lock.
8. Accuracy Disclaimer
Receipt details are extracted automatically and may contain errors. Please review amounts before using reports for accounting, tax or reimbursement purposes.
9. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available at this link and in the Google Play Store listing.
