Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how PupCoach (the "App") accesses, uses, and protects information.

In short: PupCoach does not have any servers and does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Everything you create in the App — your dog's profile, photos, training progress, walks, reminders, and special moments — stays on your device.

1. Information Accessed and Core Functionality

The App requires access to the following features to provide its core service. In every case the data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

  • Local Storage: All of your content — dog profiles, training progress, walk history, rest logs, reminders, and captured moments — is stored locally on your device using an on-device database and private app storage. We do not record, store, or transmit this content to any external server.
  • Camera & Photos: With your permission, the App lets you take a photo or choose one from your gallery to set a dog's profile picture or save a "special moment." These images are copied into the App's private local storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us. A photo leaves your device only if you tap "Share" and choose an app to send it to.
  • Location (GPS): With your permission, location is used only while you are actively tracking a walk, to measure distance and to draw your route on the map. The recorded route is saved locally with that walk on your device. Your location is never sent to us and is not used for advertising or tracking. You can start using the App without granting location access; only the walk-tracking feature needs it.
  • Internet Access: The App uses the internet for two purposes only: (a) to download map tiles from OpenStreetMap so your walk route can be displayed on a map, and (b) to process purchases through Google Play Billing. The App does not show advertisements and does not send your personal content over the internet.
  • Notifications: With your permission, the App schedules local reminders (e.g. training sessions, vaccinations) on your device. These notifications are generated on your device; no reminder data is sent to us.

2. Maps and Location Data

Walk routes are displayed using OpenStreetMap. To show the map, the App requests standard map image tiles for the area you are viewing from OpenStreetMap's tile servers. Your saved GPS route itself is not uploaded — it remains in the App's local database on your device. 3. In-App Purchases and Billing

The App offers optional premium features via subscriptions and a one-time ("lifetime") purchase.

  • Payment Processing: All financial transactions are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We never see, collect, or store your credit card numbers, bank details, or physical address.
  • Transaction Data: Google Play provides us with anonymized purchase/subscription status (such as Order IDs, product IDs, and timestamps) so we can confirm and manage your access to premium features. Your premium status is stored locally on your device.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or physical address.
  • We do not require you to create an account or log in.
  • We do not use advertisements, advertising identifiers, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs.
  • We do not operate servers that store your data.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all of your data lives on your device, you are in control of it:

  • You can delete an individual dog, walk, reminder, or special moment inside the App at any time.
  • Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data, including photos and walk routes.
  • Since we do not store your personal data on any server, there is no server-side data for us to delete.

You can also reset your advertising identifier or manage app permissions (location, camera, notifications) at any time through your Android device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is a general-audience dog-training tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / RODO)

Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and other regions have rights regarding their personal data. Because PupCoach does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or erase. All of your information remains under your control on your own device.

8. Security Measures

We implement reasonable, industry-standard practices to protect the App. Because your data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us, the risk of a remote data breach involving your personal content is minimized. Protecting the device itself (e.g. with a screen lock) further protects your data.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App or in legal requirements. The latest version will always be available in the App or via the Google Play Store, with an updated Effective Date.
